Turkey Sausage/Beverage/Burgers/Dish Mat

When I find something good I like to share it! This weeks product review picks are amazing. They are random and totally unrelated but that is just how it worked out.

This Italian Turkey Sausage is the best! I find it at Whole Foods and it has incredible flavor and is very lean. I like to use it in spaghetti sauce and lasagna.

I first read about these chicken burgers on TJ’s blog. I found them at Costco and the entire family has been enjoying them.  The family likes to heat them up and then melt some cheese on the top, put them on a whole wheat bun with burger toppings and enjoy a fast lunch. You can microwave them or heat them up in a skillet.

I like mine chopped up on a salad with fresh fruit and Annie’s Mango fat free dressing. Each burger contains 140 calories, and 6.5 g fat. It is nice to have some quick meal options on hand for busy summer days.

With my Invisalign braces I’m only suppose to drink water when I have them in but sometimes I want something with a little flavor. This Calistoga Sparkling water with lemon essence is refreshing with out any fake ingredients and is 0 calories. Love it!

Even though I have a dishwasher, everyday I seem to always have some dishes to hand wash. I don’t have room to store a drying rack or dish drainer so I have always laid out a couple of dish towels to place the rinsed dishes on. The towels get soaked and my counter ends up getting wet!

When I was at my sister in laws house this summer she had this awesome drying mat that I got to use a number of times when hand washing dishes during our family reunion. Once we got back home I was in Bed Bath & Beyond and happened across a huge display of the drying mat she had. I snatched up a couple of them at just $4.99 each.  I have been using them for the past couple of weeks and they work perfectly. It holds 4 times it’s weight in water so it is super absorbent keeping your counter top dry. They are a generous size at 16″ x 18″. They fit over the oven door handle to dry. To clean just throw in the washer and dryer! To store, I fold them in half and place in a kitchen drawer. No more wet counters!

I read about those Amy Lu things a while back and my husband has looked for them often at Costco but ours doesn’t have them:( We are heading over together today so I will look again. I drink a lot of Crystal Light. I have Sunrise Orange in the morning before breakfast, and the decaf iced tea all afternoon this time of year. I will drink much more of that than plain water.

I like herbal teas – sometimes I put a tiny bit of Stevia in them, sometimes I just drink them plain.

Water and my one a day caffeine free diet coke!

Love the sound of that mat….did a Google to see if they’re available in Canada & I think Scott might be able to find them in Calgary.

I think I may have seen those burgers at BJ’s too. I’ll have to try them – they look great!

I have that dish mat, too!!! I actually bought 2, so I have a clean one when the other is in the wash.

OH! I can’t wait to try those drying towels and chicken burgers. I recently found bison burgers at Costco. Haven’t tried them yet, but I’ll let you know when I do.

Time for a trip to Whole Foods – out of my city and then a trip to Costco! Thanks for the great tips, as always! And yes – you are allowed to say “I told you so!” Read my post tonight…and I’ll give you credit! 🙂 xxxx

That turkey sausage sounds great. I use Italian turkey sausage and make pizza with it….a lot.

My favorite low/no cal beverage is crystal light peach tea and cherry coke zero. I allow myself one of each per day…the rest is water, water, and more water 🙂

I drink a lot of iced tea, especially “interesting” herbal and flavored black or green teas. But I used to drink Calistoga Sparkling water, but I haven’t had it in a while. I have to pick some up again. It’ll be a nice change… 🙂

I have to admit that I love water. I would rather have it than anything, and room temperature too. I wasn’t always this way, but I’ve grown accustomed to it now. Thanks for sharing all those great insights. It is really helpful to know.

I will keep an eye out for those turkey burgers – they look like a nice change.

I am a big tea drinker. I have a variety of teas I use for iced tea including the Paradise teas and green tea.
