Servings: 1
Course: Breakfast, Drinks, Snacks
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 3 cups baby spinach
  • 2 tbsp flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1/8 tsp ground vanilla bean
  • 1 medjool date, pitted -optional
  • 1 banana very ripe, frozen, peeled
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes - more or less depending on how thick you like your smoothie

Equipment

  • High Powered Blender

Method

  1. In a blender container of a high powered blender add the ingredients in the order given. Using the pre set smoothie setting let the blender work its magic. If your blender doesn't have a smoothie setting use the variable speed 1 and slowly turn up the speed to the highest setting and let it run for 45 seconds or until the desired texture is achieved. Pour into a container and enjoy!
  2. If the smoothie is too thick add a little more cold water. If it is too thin add more frozen fruit or ice.
  3. I like to double this recipe and either share it or save the extra serving for the next day. I pour it into 2 qt size mason jars. Put a lid on the extra smoothie and store in the fridge.
