How to make a perfectly shaped burger!
I was watching a cooking video by Miyoko Schinner of Artisan Vegan Life where she used this simple trick to make perfectly round evenly sized veggie burgers. Take a clean lid from a peanut butter jar or any jar that has a lid the size you would like your burgers to be – line it with a piece of plastic wrap.
As you can see in the background, I pat my veggie burger mix into a a rectangle and score it into serving sizes, then scoop each serving size into the lid and make the top smooth. This is a double batch of the P.S. Chorizo Patties one of my favorites.

So simple–never thought of it! Used this tip tonight–worked perfectly.
Its so easy and works like a charm – I love it!
I ordered one of those FatDaddio pasty rings to use. In my old meat eating days I used the Tupperware burger maker–similar. Your method is cheap and easy!
Hi Jude! Well I have to give credit to Miyoko Schinner it was her idea that I shared – but you are so right – its fast easy and cheap!
I appreciate your helpful tips Tami. I’m definitely going to try this next time I make veggie burgers. I use food service gloves and that helps with the messiness.
Thank you!
Hi Sheri Lee,
Using food service gloves is a great idea! It makes for easy clean up too!
Happy Cooking,
Tami
Just tried this and it is pure genius!
