So many people have enquired about how I pack a Chopped Salad to take with me and what kind of lunch box I use. Today I am happy to share with you the amazing eBag Crew Cooler II that Tom and I both have and use all the time. It is the perfect size for the containers we use for our big beautiful Chopped Salad containers. It holds our travel size bottles of California Balsamic Vinegars too. It is light weight but yet durable and was designed with flight attendents in mind so it’s also perfect for travel.
I first saw it when my friend Nancy posted about hers on Facebook. At the time I had a different insulated lunch box but after about a year of daily use it was coming apart and needed to be replaced. When I saw this one on Amazon I remembered seeing Nancy’s and how she raved about how great it was. I ordered it straight away and when Tom saw what I was getting he wanted one too!
His & Her lunch bags! Tom opted for basic black to go with his water bottle and me being a fan of blue the choice was easy. This way we don’t accidently get them confused when we are headed in different directions. There are many colors to choose from.
You can see that there is plenty of room leftover even after the salad container is in place. I can take two meals worth of food with me if need be. The reuseable cooler packs keep my food cold all day. I love the convienent zipper compartment in front where I can safely carry my California Balsamic travel size vinegar bottles. They stay upright and fit perfectly in the outside pouch. See my California Balsamic Blog Post to find out how you can get 2 free sample size bottles of my favorite vinegars with your order.
The side pocket expands to hold a large water bottle. Tom and I both have the Hydroflask Stainless Steel Insulated bottles. They keep hot drinks hot for 6 hours and cold drinks cold for 24 hours! We take them everywhere with us and even use them at home.
Lunch time as I try to eat my lunch with 3 grandchildren under the age of 3 needing attention! This busy grandmother has no problem getting her steps in every day!

We are also Holland Bowl Mill Affiliates. The 15 inch Holland Bowl Mill Cherry fruit bowl has a permanent home on our kitchen island. It’s beautiful and useful. The heart shaped bowl makes me happy – I love everything heart shaped! We use our 15 inch Beechwood bowl to chop our salads everyday. Eating a salad for one meal every day helped me lose weight and become a size 4. I still eat a salad for one meal a day but now it’s a Big Beautiful Chopped salad and it helps me stay a size 4! See the Chopped Salad Blog Post to find out how you can incorporate a chopped salad into your daily food plan and how you can get a free mezzaluna knife with your Holland Bowl order when you use our affiliate link as well as free engraving and free shipping.

Hi Tami,
My husband and I are new to your amazing blog.
We just made our salads but we have a question:
Do you eat 1 salad over the course of the day? Not 1 for a meal/lunch …right? My husband had his 1 lb. salad for lunch and he’s uncomfortably full ( no breakfast. We were busy shopping and chopping). I can’t eat my whole 1 lb. salad …. am 1/2 way through it. May I eat this in 4 sittings over the course of a day? Thank you!! Meredith and Steve

Hi Meredith,
I eat the one pound salad for my first meal of the day which is usually lunch. Sometimes I can’t finish it at lunch and then I will save it and finish it at dinner but most of the time I eat it all for lunch. There are no set rules on how much a person should eat at any given meal. We should always eat just until we are comfortably full. How much food it takes to be comfortably full is going to be different for each individual and it can vary from day to day depending on our level of activity. If it works best for you to eat your salad spread out over the course of the day that is perfectly fine.
Happy Chopping!
Tami

Amazing review. Everything is here. Detailed explanation, pictures, and even a video. Thank you, awesome work.

Hi – I believe you pack the salad unchopped into the 9-cup container (otherwise it would get wilted and yuck, I think) – how would you suggest that I could chop it up at work? Thanks – love all your content!

I batch prep my salads and put them in the Ziplock containers. Then each morning I chop my salad that I intend to eat at lunch. After chopping I put it back into the ziplock container and pack it in my ebag cooler. Some of my followers tell me they chop it the night before so it’s ready to pack in their cooler bag in the morning before work.
