My bowl in the photo above is one example of an Imperfect bowl from Holland Bowl Mill.
Holland Bowl Mill’s imperfect bowls will have more grain or color variation and may not be perfectly round when compared to premium bowls. Because of these imperfections, each size bowl (12, 15, and 17-inch) is priced at a heavy discount compared to HBM’s premium selections.
What won’t you find in these bowls?
No cracks on the rim or structural issues. Just like the premium bowls, all imperfect bowls come with a lifetime guarantee from cracking or warping, provided they are properly cared for. Avoid leaving standing water in the basin, and do not place bowls in a dishwasher, as that will void the lifetime guarantee. Be sure to use food grade mineral oil or the bee’s wax/oil mixture from Holland Bowl to keep your bowl from drying out. When the wood starts to look dry it’s time to oil it.
This is my Imperfect Bowl – with a few blemishes on the outside. I love the character it adds to my bowl. The wood bowls are perfect for chopping our big, beautiful salads we eat daily. The bowls can be used to chop salads or fresh herbs, to toss salads in, serve salads, hold fresh fruit, squash and so much more!

A note from Tami…. We have been eating a salad for one of our main meals daily since 2013 when we transitioned to a whole food plant-based lifestyle.
