I would like to take the class in January. I will watch for the December announcement. I live in the area and would LOVE to dive in deeper into this plan. I’m currently practicing making the meals and snacks, but only 75 percent compliant. Hoping to expand my skills and refine my focus. Thank you!
Sabine
Good, to hear this other class. I can’t make the current one in time, but would love to take this course in the future. I was thinking Spring but if January is the last one, January is possible.
Thanks,
Sabine
Tami Kramer
Sabine, We haven’t planned beyond January at this time. We need to figure out our vacation plans and so forth before we can set any other dates. We will announce and future classes on the blog and facebook!
Tami
Bette-Lynn Steiner

Tami Kramer
Hi Bette – Lynn
This class is an in person series for the group support and interaction. If you live in the Sacramento area we will be having another class in January. Chef AJ does have an on line weight loss support group that you can join and it includes a private Facebook group!
Happy healthy cooking,

Hi Tami I have watching your you tube channel for about 11/2 years love it Is your home without steps I am in a powerchair and can not climb stairs Thank you
Sherri
Tami Kramer
Hi Sherri,
Thank you for watching our channel and for your kind remarks. Our home is a two story but all of the class activites will be on the main floor and maybe an exercise break – strecth time will be in the backyard – depending on the weather and other factors. The back door is a 6 inch drop to the patio but we do have a paved walkway from the front gate to the back yard. We do have the standard size threshold at the front door with a 3 1/2 inch rise. Our down stairs bathroom doorway is 25 inches wide because the door opens into the room and the front of the toilet to the edge of the bath tub is 32 inches – it’s a bit small. We are holding the lectures in our kitchen and everyone will be seated around our large kitchen table. It’s possible that we could do a field trip to Whole Foods – just depends on the dynamics of the group and what the overall knowledge base of a plant based diet is. We won’t know what the group dynamics are until after our first class.
If you have any further questions let me know.
Happy healthy cooking,
Tami
Julia Dunaway
How many people usually come to one of your programs?
Tami Kramer
Hi Julia,
This is our first UWL Weight Loss Class. In our cooking classes we allowed up to 24 but for this class we think up to 12 would work.
Hope to see you in the class – we having a good response!
Happy Healthy Living,
Tami
E
If I am chopping a salad for 2 people, what size Holland Mill bowl should I order? Thanks.
Tami Kramer
Hi E,
The 15 inch bowl will hold a pound of salad vegetables and still allow you to chop without it spilling out. We use the 15 inch and love it. I don’t recommend anything smaller than that. Tom and I each chop a one pound salad. I don’t know how big your salads are but the 15 inch will most likely be large enough.
Happy Chopping,
Tami

Love all yohr videos. Do you know of any classes i. The Atlanta area?
Tami Kramer
Thank you so much Carla. I don’t know of any classes in your area. Try going to http://www.meetup.com and look for Forks Over Knives Meet Up Groups or Plant Pure Meet up groups or a local Vegan society and see what you can find. Do a Google or Event Brite search for whole food plant based cooking classes. If you have a local Co-OP or health food store they might offer plant based cooking classes too. Search on Facebook for plant based groups or vegan groups in your community. Not all vegan groups eat healthy but some do so it’s worth a search.
Happy Cooking,
Tami

Is the class still open? I would like to attend.. My daughter was wondering if you have an age limit. Sheriff 11 year old daughter is taking a cooking this year(she’s homeschooled), and was wondering if this is something she could take also?
Thanks, Tina S.
Tami Kramer
Hi Tina,
Thank you for your interest and inquiry about the Weight Loss Program class. It’s wonderful that your daughter will be learning about cooking this year and that you are home schooling her. Our three year old granddaughter loves to help me cook.
Although I will be talking about healthy shopping and cooking this is not a series of cooking classes. It is an instructional class where participants are going to be learning about calorie density, the pleasure trap of foods, how to eat for weight loss, how to manage cravings, how to stop yo-yo dieting and so on. It’s about helping those who desire to improve their health and obtain their healthy weight. The conversation could become quite sensitive at times with people sharing their struggles and challenges in this area of their life. Family support or the lack of it and eating disorders can also become sensitive topics. So in light of this I don’t feel that it would be appropriate conversation and content for an 11 year old.
However when I do offer a cooking class you would be more than welcome to sign her up for it along with you! We don’t currently have any cooking classes scheduled but when we do they will be posted here on the blog as well as on our Nutmeg Notebook facebook page and also on the Sacramento Vegan Society page on http://www.meetup.com
I do have an opening in the class if you would like to join us. We are so excited to be able to offer this program in our community.
Warmly,
Tami
