Nutmeg Notes
I am especially excited about this event because I’m a member of Chef AJ’s Ultimate Weight Loss Program. I joined two years ago today! Chef AJ and her business partner Jay Pea have taught me how to eat a healthy well balanced whole food plant based diet to lose weight and keep it off! I love being a size 4 and maintaining my weight. I learned about processed food addiction and why eating all things in moderation wasn’t working for me. Now I understand what foods to eat to stop the crazy cravings I used to have. My food plan is highly nutritious and fuels my body in the best possible way yet it is scrumptious. I enjoy food so much more now that I have a stable blood sugar and a calm brain.
This year I enrolled in the UWL Mastery program and I’m fine tuning my skills and knowledge about calorie density, health, exercise and overall wellness. There is always more to learn and master. Gone are the days of yo-yo dieting and having a closet with multiple sizes of clothes to accommodate the swings in my weight.
Since today is my two year anniversary of joining the Ultimate Weight Loss Plan it’s only fitting to look at my before and after photo!
My hope is that many of you will take advantage of this incredible opportunity to hear what some of the best plant based speakers have to say about the latest nutritional science.

A Little Nutmeg Nugget: When I started this blog in January of 2010 I followed what I understood to be a healthy version of the standard American diet, ironically also known as the “SAD” diet. As interest in my own health and how it was affected by the food I ate evolved, I transitioned to a whole food plant based diet also known as “WFPB” diet. I have wrestled with the fact that this blog still contains all those posts and recipes from the SAD way of eating I have left behind. I no longer advocate for anyone to eat that way. At this time I am leaving those recipes and posts here. It is a record of my journey and how I came to follow a WFPB way of eating. It is my hope that those who still come here for those old recipes will be curious about what I am doing now. Perhaps they will dip their toes across the line as I did and try some plant based recipes and learn more about the health benefits.
Please feel free to leave me a comment or ask a question.

Hi Jody, Thank you so much!
Sharon
It’s neat to have been part of your journey from the very beginning. There are a few of your recipes that have become standard for me, not just because they are healthy, but because they are delicious. Hope you’ll write a post about the event!
Tami
Hello Sharon,
