March 24, 2010 by admin 9 Comments

Tami's Easy Salsa Nutmeg Notebook

Quick & easy and yet so delicious. Make it in just a few minutes in the blender. You control how spicy it is.

You can make it chunky or not. Add salt or not. Add a jalapeno or not.

The salsa goes well with Chipotle Nacho Cheese Sauce and Air Fried Chips made oil free.

When I make a burrito bowl buffet for company I will make the easy red salsa and the Salsa Verde. Make a day ahead and put them in glass jars with lids and refrigerate.

It also works in place of salad dressing on a chopped salad. Mix it in with the greens or top the salad with it. Add some crispy oil free air fried tortilla strips for a delightful feast.

This basic salsa recipe was a discovery for me! I never thought I could simply prepare a salsa with a can of high quality tomatoes.. I prepared the Easy Red Salsa for a second time this evening, using a brand of biological tomatoes that was on sale at my natural food store. It is excellent and refreshing, and will be even more tasty tomorrow. Great recipe with simple ingredients! Thank you Tami.

This was easy and tasted good! I look forward to using my own tomatoes and jalapenos from my garden later this year. This was a great recipe when fresh veggies aren’t available.
