I can have bread again! I am so excited to share an amazing vegan, certified gluten free, certified organic bread made with simple wholesome ingredients that are good for you and good for the planet. It’s a win – win for everyone. Pacha Buckwheat Loaf Sourdough Bread is made with just sprouted buckwheat, sea salt and organic herbs and spices. You can feel good about eating this bread and sharing it with your family and friends.
Three flavors of bread loaves and a bun to choose from. The breads are all oil free but do contain sodium with 118 mg of sodium per serving. The Buckwheat buns have olive oil listed as an ingredient but there is no oil in the bread – a small amount of oil is used as a releasing agent for the pan the buns are baked in. Updated 09/30/24 The buns are probably my favorite product made by Pacha. They are the perfect size for mini pizzas, as a bun for a veggie burger, toasted with nut butter or as bread to serve with a soup or stew. I love them!
All of the Pacha Bread packaging is 100% home – compostable. In addition to compostable packaging, PACHA consciously chooses to use cover crops as main ingredients in their products. Essentially, cover crops can be defined as plants used to slow erosion, optimize soil health, attract pollinators, and improve biodiversity on farms. Pacha is committed to sourcing ingredients that support regenerative agriculture.
The Pacha Bread is shipped frozen but will thaw out before it arrives. You can go ahead and slice it and refreeze it. I slice it in half and then each half is cut into approximately 1/4 in thick. It will keep 1-2 weeks in the fridge or up to 2 years in the freezer. Once frozen you can take out as many as slices as you wish and toast it. It is best toasted – it is so delicious!

Pacha which means “The Great Mother” is made using buckwheat which is naturally gluten free. Buckwheat is not a type of wheat, officially it’s not even a grain. It is a seed that is harvested from a flowering plant that is related to rhubarb. The kernels are shaped like little pyramids and are similar to grains from both a nutritional and culinary perspective. The buckwheat is soaked for 24 hours to sprout it and then drained and rinsed and allowed to ferment so you can digest them with ease.

Six Buns per pack. Great lightly toasted. There is no oil in the bread mixture itself. They do use a little oil on the bun pans to help them release once baked. It is a negligible amount of oil that is used.
