I am feeling all peachy in the kitchen! It’s peach season and I couldn’t be happier. They are naturally sweet and can be enjoyed fresh or cooked. In this post I am sharing some of my favorite recipes that include peaches. Perfect peachy goodness for your next picnic, BBQ or potluck.

Why are peaches so good for you? Peaches are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They are low calorie density but big on flavor. They satisfy our sweet tooth without making us crave sugar. They contain both soluble and insoluble fiber so they help stabilize blood sugar, and aid in digestion. Eat the fuzzy skin to increase the fiber intake. The polyphenols and prebiotics found in peaches can help decrease inflammation.

Sweet smelling peaches are going to be the most ripe and have the most flavor. If they are still firm when purchased let them ripen in a bowl at room temperature until ripe. Then put them in the fridge to keep them from going bad. Use caution as they go from ripe to bad in a hurry.

This California Quinoa Mango Salad can be made with fresh ripe peaches. Perfect for the July 4th BBQ or any get together this summer. I demonstrated this recipe at the 2023 National Health Association conference and they served it at lunch that day. It is one of our favorite summer salads.

Cherries and Peaches are in season so it’s the perfect time to make a Cherry Peach Cobbler. This recipe is easy to double or triple to feed a crowd. Make some Banana Cherry nice cream to go on top. It’s so healthy you could have this for breakfast. This is a quick and easy dessert recipe that we enjoy all year long. In the winter months I use frozen fruits.

Perfectly Peachy Pie makes good use of all those ripe peaches you don’t know what to do with. Of course it is better with some nice cream on top.

Balsamic Cherry & Peaches is such a simple recipe but full of flavor and just look at all that color. This is scrumptious on it’s own or you can serve it over a bowl of hot oats, chilled on top of over night oats, on pancakes or waffles or top it with some vanilla plant based yogurt and some granola. Are you getting hungry? In the winter I make this with frozen fruit.
