The easiest and most efficient way to cook corn on the cob. You will have perfectly cooked, tender, moist flavorful corn on the cob. Just set it and forget it! This cooking method does not heat up your kitchen, no boilng a big pot of water on the stove. I love it!
Use the wire rack that comes with your Instant Pot and place it in the liner along with 1 cup of water. You can use the 6 or 8 QT pressure cooker. Trim your corn on the cob so it fits in the pot. If we buy the trimmed corn on the cob from Costco it fits perfectly on end in the 8 QT pressure cooker. In the 6 QT lay the corn on it’s side and stack them.
Put the lid on and set the manual timer to 2 minutes high pressure. Make sure the steam valve is set to steaming. Do manual pressure release as soon as the 2 minutes is up. Remove from the pressure cooker and enjoy!
We like to squeeze fresh lime juice over the corn – add a little sprinkle of salt if desired.

Corn on the Cob in the Instant Pot
Ingredients
- 8 ears corn on the cob, trimmed
- 1 cup hot water
- fresh limes cut into wedges
Instructions
- Place the rack that comes with the Instant pot in the liner with 1 cup of water. Place the trimmed corn on the cob in the liner. If using the 6 qt lay the corn down on it's side and stack them on each other.If using the 8 qt, the trimmed corn on the cob can stand up on end. Put the lid on and make sure the steam valve is set on steaming.Using the manual setting set it for 2 minutes on high pressure.As soon as the 2 minutes cooking time is up use manual pressure release.Remove and serve.Serving suggestion: Use fresh limes to squeeze juice on the hot corn – it's delicious.
