There are so many ways to enjoy pumpkin pie flavors and this dip is at the top of my list. A few simple ingredients like canned pumpkin, chickpeas, dates and those lovely warm spices associated with pumpkin pie create a most delightful dip. It is lovely with fresh apple and pears slices, and chunks of apples. Use in place of jam on your toast, muffins, pancakes or waffles.

If you want to eat it from a bowl by the spoonful – go ahead – nothing wrong with that!

Cut my Pumpkin Oat Waffles or Blender Oat Waffles into sticks and let the kiddos have fun dipping them in pumpkin pie dip – everyone loves finger foods. Kids love to dip their food and this is so healthy they can dip away to their heart’s content because it’s made from wholesome ingredients. Everyone of all ages loves this dip!

Make the Pumpkin Spice Muffins and cookies and top them with Pumpkin Pie Dip. What a treat! You might also enjoy a Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dip and the Snickerdoodle Dip. So many healthy yet scrumptious dips and spreads to keep things interesting.

Serving Suggestions:
A spread for waffles, pancakes, toast, muffins and oatmeal cookies. Use as a dip for waffles cut into strips, apple and pear slices, persimmon slices and bananas. Use as a topping on hot cereal like oats and cream of wheat. Layer in a pretty glass jar with plant based yogurt and oats or granola.

Substitutions:
Canned Pumpkin – canned butternut squash or cooked sweet potato.
Garbanzo beans – cooked cannellini beans or tofu.

Pumpkin Pie Dip
Ingredients
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas
- 1/4 cup aquafaba – the cooking liquid from the chickpeas
- 6 Medjool dates, soak in hot water if they are dry, drain before blending Or use 10-12 deglet noor dates
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1/2 tsp ground vanilla bean powder
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- If it is too thick thin with more aquafaba or water
- Chill in the refrigerator in a covered container.
- It should last 4-5 days in the fridge. Or freeze in single servings. Thaw, stir and serve!
