I was inspired to create this smoothie after my dear friend Shayda from Healthy Cooking with Shayda shared about a frozen Dandy Blend drink she enjoyed during a recent NHA Plant-Based Cruise. The original recipe, created by our friends at Well Your World, was delicious! I couldn’t stop thinking about how fun it would be with the rich, creamy additions of frozen bananas and cacao powder. You know how I love chocolate! So, here’s my twist: a Vegan Mocha Frappuccino Smoothie that’s sure to satisfy your cravings and fuel your day!

My favorite pure ground vanilla powder. You will be amazed by the flavor in all of your baking.

Enjoy this instant herbal beverage that has the flavor of coffee without the caffeine. Hot or cold it is a delicious addition to your healthy lifestyle.
What’s Inside – And Why You’ll Love it
This smoothie is more than just a tasty treat – it’s a powerhouse of fiber, antioxidants, protein and naturally sweetened with whole fruit.
Dandy Blend: This instant herbal coffee alternative is made from raosted dandelion root, chicory, barley and rye. It’s caffeine – free, and rich in prebiotic fiber.
Soy Milk: One of the most protein rich plant milks, soy milk provides a good source of protein at 9 grams per cup, healthy fats, calcium, essential vitamins and potassium. Look for a soy milk made with just 2 ingredients, organic soy beans and water. I like Trader Joe’s Soy Milk.
Dates: Naturally sweet and fiber rich, dates are packed with minerals like potassium and magnesium, adding a sweetness without any refined sugar. Soak them in hot water for 15 minutes to soften.
Frozen Bananas: These add creamy texture and natural sweetness, along with potassium, vitmain B6 and fiber to support digestive health.
Unsweetened Cacao Powder: Rich in antioxidants, and minerals, a good a source of magnesium, and potassium. It adds chocolate flavor without added sugars.
Vanilla Bean Powder : Can sub vanilla extract. It adds a warm depth of flavor and helps balance the earthy flavor of the Dandy Blend.
Ice Cubes: These are hydrating and help create a thick, cold refreshing texture – perfect for a warm day or a post workout treat.
Get Ready to Try Everything
The Ascent X Series is an evolution of Vitamix’s premium blender line. A Reimagined design, combining an intuitive interface with a sophisticated, timeless look that feels at home in any home.

Substitutions:
I have not tried these substitutions – I have only made it according to the orginal recipe.
Dandy Blend: Teeccino Herbal Coffee – another caffeine – free alternative to coffee. Cold brew coffee adjust quantity to your taste. Your favorite brand of instant coffee.
Soy Milk: Unsweetened almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk or your favorite plant milk. A higher fat content will result in a richer, creamier texture.
Dates: Date Syrup or maple syrup – 1-2 tablespoons or to your personal taste preferences. Raisins soaked to soften, 2-4 tablespoons.
Frozen Bananas: 1 avocado – will add creaminess and healthy fat but not sweetness – up the dates to compensate. 1 cup of oven roasted Japanese sweet potato without the skin. Steamed frozen cauliflower about 1 cup – add more dates for sweetness.
